Welcome to Longview Co-operative

In 1957, 678 Broadview Avenue was constructed as a purpose-built five-storey apartment building just south of Danforth Avenue near Toronto’s iconic Greektown.

On March 21, 1985 Longview was incorporated as a Federal Co-operative.

Public Transit

It’s a short walk to Broadview Station for quick access to the Bloor / Danforth Line 2 connecting to the Yonge / University Line 1. A streetcar stop is immediately adjacent to Longview’s front entrance serving Toronto’s west end via Dundas and King Streets West.

Neighbourhood Amenities

Wide range of food shopping within walking distance: Sobey’s, Foodland, No Frills, independent grocers and Asian markets on Gerrard Street East.

Toronto Public Library near Pape and Danforth, and the Riverdale branch at Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East.

Parks and Recreation Locations: Riverdale Park East, Riverdale Farm, Don River Trail, Withrow Park.

The best way to find out when our waiting list opens is to subscribe to the CHFT newsletter which can be found at coophousing.com. When our waiting list is open, the application fee is $25 per applicant and applications must be submitted with income verification and photo identification.

Once the application is received, applicants will be interviewed by our Membership Committee. The Membership Committee will pass their recommendation on to the Board which will make a decision regarding approval. If the Board approves the application then the applicant is put on our waiting list. Our waiting list is a roughly 5 – 10 year wait.
